I keep transiting the ideal to inspire liberation, noting and trying to indicate implicit tyrannies and unbalanced relationships between persons and their context, within the realities that go through what I am. One is always transiting privileges and vulnerabilities.
I grew up both a Buddhist and a Catholic in a Jewish community, within a very diverse family where both advantages and scarcities took presence in my upbringing.
In 2018 I did not have a way to come back to my country by my own means.
The pain and powerlessness of facing that reality, and even more, by facing the reality of more vulnerable Venezuelan migrants in Colombia, brought my first work to life, and kept resonating these 5 years, surrounding itself by more questions on my own identity: being a non binary person, being a result of the privileges, spaces and opportunities hardly worked and earned by my predecessors, and also the result of my own decisions.
I see privilege as the possession of characteristics, circumstances and time to decide. Is the capacity to have options and time at our disposal to discern between them.
I aim to use the body as the homologous agent in our species, proposing dynamics to cruise through this series of delusions and contexts that divide in geographic, political, cultural, social categories; inviting others to put themselves in places outside of the limits of their usual realities, to uncover possibilities, and comprehend themselves as viables in other contexts.
