Mauricio van der Maesen, born in Uruguay, relocated to the Netherlands in 2016. Initially immersed in architectural studies, his fascination with mathematics and physics led him to shift towards Electrical Engineering. After completing his degree in Electrical Engineering, he pursued further studies in Computer Sciences, specializing in signal processing. Throughout a dynamic career, Mauricio navigated various domains, including telecommunications, micro-electronics, industrial automation, sound engineering and software development. His career has always been driven by an attraction to technology and its potential. In the year 2020, Mauricio started his studies in Fine Arts and Design at the Dogtime program of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. His projects explore many ways in which people connect and interact with the environment through the production and use of technology. His work process is often driven by his technical background and involves the application of scientific and engineering approaches to achieving digital and algorithmic interpretations of reality.
