Mamali Shafahi

I mostly engage in medium- or long-term themed research projects that lead, as they develop, to works on film or video, performances, sculptures, or immersive installations. The installations may include work by others drawn into a given project. Most recently, I have been working on ‘nerd_funk’ with Ali Eslami, a five-part VR project enabling the user to set off on a journey of investigation of major societal issues as they are addressed through social media, notably Instagram.
